Thoughts on Alex Ohanian's resignation from the reddit board and urging the board to fill that position with a black candidate?

I feel Serena chose well!

Pure Token PR. It’s also illegal to hire someone based on race. He could have stayed and made a real difference, instead of engaging in tokenism.

He has the power to change that company. Leaving it so he can be replaced by a single black candidate feels like a publicity stunt.

Because you believe a replacement board member is a stunt. Instead of being open to what a black member can and would bring. Because you don’t realize that without actions like these, the institutional racism in our country will continue to keep our executive ranks mostly white. He’s still going to change the company in other ways, ECD. It’s not like he has one ticket left to use this decade. And, actions like these will trickle through the company.

I’ve been following his career and his commentary for a long time, I believe it is sincere. He’s trying to do the work, even if he doesn’t always get it right. I see very few founders trying has hard has he is to learn and change the industry.

*as hard as. (Dictation problems)

I feel like the board will not replace him with a black candidate

He was the founder, and in this moment, they will.

Convenient he asked after it wasn’t his job to lose. Just someone else who may be qualified.

REALLY get along with my current team, got a verbal offer that I'll take once they find me a role. Would it be wrong if I wanted to give my lead a 4 weeks heads up that I plan on leaving soon? Cont.

I had a conversation with an early stage stealth mode startup about joining. The founders want me to join so they had set up a time for me to meet their team. Now, do I reach out back to the founders to ask what the offer would look like? It’s hard for me to consider whether I’ll jump or not without knowing what I would be walking away for. Maybe in an email I could ask to discuss potential numbers? But it’s a bit weird to say that since idk if they’re 100% sure about hiring me

Does the company NetEase exist? I’ve been approached by 3 different recruiters on LinkedIn about a PM position in there and I find it weird. Any experience with this company?

Hi Folks,
Recently I got interviewed by Deloitte USI, HR discussion and everything happened. But at last they told me that position got on hold and they will come back to me in March.
Should I really wait as I want to join Deloitte?

I have an upcoming interview for a “Strategic Creative Director” role. Any tips, suggestions or lingo I should drop to sound more strategic? I love a good insight or well-written brief but don’t think of myself as very strategic….

Hi all, negotiating with HR on salary for a new AS position and want to know what’s fair. I was an AE for two years, took a promotion at another agency for SAE for only 8 months and am now being recruited for AS at 80k. All of my agencies have been large, I’ve worked on pharma and a large global account, I also started “managing” at the AE level due to my team’s structure. Is $80k fair? Thanks!

Any tips for someone who discounts good feedback but heavily focuses on the opportunities to improve? So much that I have a fear of getting fired despite receiving overall good feedback.

I started a new job earlier this year. The function of the role and industry is new to me. My manager told me he generally has higher expectations than the rest of the organization. Originally, I viewed this as a great learning opportunity but can't help to think I'm not cut out for this and fear the worst.

Anyone applied to McK and then been redirected to different position within McK?
