Thoughts on Apple watches? Or even smart watches in general?

I also think I'm in the minority, but I never cared for smart watches

There is such a thing as "too connected" i also like real watches, they're more masculine to me.

I've been on a fitness kick (who hasn't I know) but I do like it for that reason. I also like how I can sort of leave my iPhone 7 plugged in and then walk around my apartment without needing to check it and stuff. I feel I look at my phone less with the watch which I consider a good thing.

Just sold my Apple Watch 2 on eBay after a week of use. It works fine, it's a nice fitness tracker...but as a male 🐠 I missed having a Watch be the the only accessory I should wear. Once you use the Apple Watch you really can't NOT wear it.

^ Out of curiosity why did you sell vs return? Did you make some $ or just exceed the return period?

Ahh fair point - I deliberated too long and missed the 14 day return policy. It was originally a gift so I'm using the $ to buy a new watch.

I went to my GE science teachers and asked for a comprehensive list of what is taught in biology in our GE classes. My goal is to take the main ideas and bring the concepts down to the level of my students to keep them moving at a similar rate. I was told they do not feel they can share that with me because we do not have our class assignments for next year yet.

SSSOOOO...can anyone help me come up with a Biology Concept list?

Hi, I’ve recently been made redundant unexpectedly as the company want to switch to B2B sales and replace my cx teams roles with biz dev. They gave a 5 week notice with final pay end of this month. I also believe they’ve known since February as they asked us all to resend contracts back then. How should I approach declining to complete this work?

Can someone help me understand how backdoor Roth works in my situation?

I contribute the $19.5K max to a 401K each year. Would backdoor Roth be (A) the ability to roll $6K of that $19.5K into a Roth? or (B) an incremental $6K that I could contribute to a separate IRA then backdoor into a Roth?

Asked another way, does backdoor Roth allow me to actually contribute $25.5K each year, or does it just allow $6K of my $19.5K contribution to build in a Roth?

Thanks!

Lately I’ve been feeling pay by bracket policy is very counter productive. When I came from my prev company, I had salary at the higher bracket due to market correction and novartis offer coinciding. Now after a couple of years, I see that people who were hired before or after me on a lower package have somewhat similar package as me cause of the pay brackets despite me performing better. Should I talk to my manager explaining my predicament? Or should I simply search for another job?
