Thoughts on applying to roles at FAANG that your qualified for but don’t see yourself doing long term just to get your foot in the door, then trying to pivot—anyone have experience doing this?

I’m applying for admission to NY by transferred UBE score. Live in NJ but work in Manhattan. I was told that if I submit something showing I work in the city I will be certified to the First Department rather than the Third. Other than the location of the interview and the ceremony, are there any substantial differences between the departments? I am admitted in two other states so I don’t anticipate any issues but I’d like to get this done easily and quickly.

Senior BL (M&A) associate here ready to quit, even though I haven’t lined anything up yet. Just had enough of it all. Anything I should keep in mind? Fortunate to be in a very strong financial position, so not worried about that aspect. Current goal is to exit law for something business side (hope to achieve this mainly through my network). Guys please suggest what should I do?

Have others found it hard to transition from Audit to Financial Analyst? All the recruiters I’m meeting with are telling me I probably won’t get an interview since they’re looking for someone who’s ready to hit the ground running.
It’s discouraging because I’m a fast learner, and from talking to my friends who are Financial Analysts, it doesn’t seem like what we do is so dissimilar.

Thinking about leaving Big 4 and going into internal audit (currently about to be a Senior in Assurance).

I like working on controls/SOX much more than substantive. I thought about switching internally to advisory and doing internal audit but not sure what the best move is.

I don’t see myself ever doing a technical accounting role or any financial accounting roles. Ideally I would like to transition to more business operations type of roles throughout my career. Any advice is appreciated!

When I started in this firm I was told that they will reconsider my position in sometime. I recently asked HR regarding salary review, but he denied and said they are not considering anymore salary this year and next salary considerations would be in Q1 of next year(6 more months). I know I’m being underpaid. What should do or how should I negotiate?
