What a long walk that was
The only thing that’s “little” is this industry. Keep in mind that the person or people walking along that little bridge today, could be part of a bigger pond you want to swim in sometime in the future. Obviously, do what’s right for you and your career. But I’m sure there’s a better way to approach it than by burning someone else — how would you feel if someone burned you? How would want that person to address the other opportunity with you? Do that. They may not be happy about your decision, but they’ll understand it.
Keep in mind everyone knows each other in this industry — across PR, Ad, Marketing, Digital, Shopper, SEO, etc.
The bridge you burn today could be your client next year. I’ve seen it happen before, where everyone trashed our previous practice chair and their leadership style. This person ended up becoming a client after our merger. Move with caution.

Don’t do it. Find a better way out
Depends, context please? Though you’ll have to be hella sure that you wouldn’t need this bridge in the near future. Else, weigh the costs. If not, no. It’s already a hella small industry/world.
context please. If you are close to them, and they understand your POV, it is okay....
