Can anyone shed some light on quant funds please? https://groww.in/mutual-funds/escorts-tax-plan-direct-growth
I am seeing stellar returns and extremely low expense ratios but apparently since they're quantitatively managed algorithms, they don't account for things like corona for example.

Just asked my 10yo (because thats the level of intelligence it takes to ask that question) her response: Why would anyone pay $18k for a vacation plan when you can just use google and use hotel/airline points to get the best travel deals!
I'm not saying it's a good investment, but one pro for this type of thing is that it forces you to go on vacation. My husband and I went to Hawaii last year at a time that wasn't super convenient, but if we didn't go we'd lose it. I was worried about my project, and you know what, I barely remember why. Hawaii was awesome, and I learned how to surf! 🏄🏻♀️
You got a job at McK and are considering a time share? I've seen it all now.
Nothing about that sounds too good to be true lol. Sounds like complete shit.
Invest $18k, earn 7% instead of losing 13%, use the $3600 each year for a week long vacation rental
You will not have access to those 200+ properties. There will be tons of blackout dates and stipulations to get access to the nice ones.
Never ever ever get a time share. Ever.
13% loan...holy shit.
They spend an astronomical amount of money marketing these things and sales people make a fortune on each one they sell. That should tell you all that you need to know.
This gives me hope that, with my current level of knowledge, I can work at Mckinsey
OP, you're a strange bird. Both for this post and for your responses
Off the top of my head...
1) Time shares don't appreciate so it's not really an investment.
2) There are usually monthly maintenance fees which kill the value of the deal
3) Expensive - let's say you keep the time share for the length of the. 1 week of vacation per year average at 367/night. If you keep it for 10 years the price drops to 257/night. That's not accounting for taxes, maintenance/fees, time value of money.
4) Very difficult to resell a time share. There are companies that specialize in resales but they charge you quite a bit (basically killing any attempt to make a profit on the time share)
5) Blackout dates and other restrictions limit the benefits
6) 18% loan. Really that should be enough to tell you it's a bad idea.
^ why were you so insecure about your knowledge before? I also don't know what shape Earth is..anything to make you feel better my man 🖖🏽
Bit uncalled for, but love the effort you made for me
Dude. Just no.
I have never heard of the concept before. Someone lay out the cons?
D2- that's helpful. This Sales guy specifically said that won't be an issue, seems they changed their business model recently, but I don't believe that for a second
👹👹👹👹⚪️
Remember maintenance fees make it not worth it
OP sounds like he snuck in somehow, probably strong gpa and memorizing Case in Point.
Except for the crazy interest rate
I should mention, I'll actually be at Sheraton Vistana Villages in two weeks. I've been before and it's a great property for family vacations, but worth nowhere near that kind of money. They sent us a promo, we got 4 nights for $299 total, and I added two more nights at 10k star points per night. Full list price is $150-250/ night, depending on the season.
