Honestly, it's just snobbery and misguided expectations of what consulting work is - even if it's staff aug you should be able to do it better than any perm they could hire into the role.
Big 4 consultants feel special because they can look down on the auditors.
Accn get to look down on the offshore technology guys.
I have been in consulting for sixteen years I have heard crappy things about every company out there - I won't name them, but you know who you are. Don't rely on rumor to make a decision - put your name in the hat and talk to the company. Make your assessment ,make your decision. If you like what you see - go for it. If it doesn't work out, move on.
The job is what YOU make of it.
Sounds like Costco. Don’t have much more to offer sorry. Might be a great firmB

Haha I agree it's a poor name. Their nickname in the industry is "Crapco"
Pros: They pay well, and they have a strong set of financial services clients (GS, MS, RBC, DB, etc). Their biggest office is also in London if you ever want to transfer internationally.
Cons: Almost all staff aug work (primarily back office operations and IT). Most people who work there only see a client or two over several years. If you’re good it’s typically beneficial to stay on an account because promos are assessed account by account. They have a “strategy” practise but it’s small, and a lot of them don’t actually end out doing strategy work.

Like others have said, mostly does staff aug PMO type work in the banking industry.
Not a terrible place to work if that’s what you like to do.
Like many lower tier firms, no training, and not structured well for development like the bigger firms.
I say this having 2 ex Capco people on my current engagement 😁
