Came into consulting with the shark mentality and wanted to be an “over-achiever”. Now, I’m realizing that the juice just isn’t worth the squeeze (cringe). I just feel down considering my firm is not issuing any raises or bonuses to non promotion folks. Therefore, getting the same reward as the dude riding the bench with a <50% uti. The middle ground is the place to be quite honestly. Can anyone shed light on this pls?

That crazy EY manager post has got me wonder which places with robust and dynamic economies relatively has the best working culture. Western Europe promotes work-life balance but seems like there is lots of labor inflexibility and institutional stagnation. East Asia arguably more dynamic but stereotypically overworking. Or the American or the Australian etc culture? Any takes? Obviously subjective since we all prioritize and value factors differently
Hi! As I am moving up in my career and beginning to manage projects and people I am noticing that it can be difficult to have my voice be heard or establish direction for my team particularly offshore. I find I am often cut off and will have to interrupt to get a word in (onshore and offshore mostly white men) When I ask for something done they will not always do it. I think it is a combination of things - being a minority and a woman. I don’t think it is ill-will but want to understand how to
