Probably the best segment in DHC 🤓
How many years experience op? Deloitte is very conservative about hiring at the SM level. SMs here probably start with a minimum of 10 years experience (but often more). You'd have to show that you've managed accounts and done a lot of selling. It's hard enough to be successful at the SM level when you've grown up here, but starting without a network and knowledge of Deloitte's delivery approach it can be too much for many people to handle.

Awesome group. OT&T is growing like crazy in the commercial space and growing also in federal. You get involved in OTT specific projects (learning, leadership) but also across other service lines (change management for tech implementation, OD for M&A, etc.).
In OTT commercial, heard Fed is capped at 40 lol but on a lower pay scale.
Agree with D1, we bring people in usually at a lower level from other big 4 and Accenture. But there are exceptions.
D4- fed isn't capped at 40- it's dependent on the way the contract is written. I've been on a couple strict 40-hour weeks, but most have had a cap at 45 hours unless you get approval from the client and COR to go over
I have over 20 years of experience and had about $2 million in sales personally with add on work total $9 million sales last year
It's great. What about it did you want to know?
we have a great practice, nice people, and are growing like crazy (speaking for commercial, not federal- i don’t know much about federal)
Growth opportunities are aplenty though.
I'm in Fed OTT. Been here 5 years. VERY rarely work over 45 hours. If you fight hard for the level you think you deserve, they'll give it to you. But you better be able to back up your justification!
^I stand corrected. @A1, I don't know the exact guidelines but anecdotally in my last 4 years I have only seen two direct to partner hires. I worked with only one direct to SM who had like 15-20 years of industry experience. He left the firm after 1 yr at Deloitte.
D Fed OT&T here. Whoever said we’re capped at 40 has no idea what they’re talking about. Have had projects where I regularly bill 60/ week. Have had projects where I bill 40 but on those projects I’ve needed to be EXTREMELY judicious with the team about billing *only* productive hours associated with deliverables. It’s a great practice, highly recommend it but don’t expect to come in as an SM with anything under 15 years exp and don’t expect an amazing work life balance if you want to be a high performer.
We (Fed HC) are having an in-person experienced hire referral event next month. If you are interested, drop a burner and I can set you up
OP I have the same question as you, and would even also like someone that can shed some light on how the practice is at Federal level. 🍿🍿
I am an experienced manager in EY’s PAS legacy P&OC group but would only make the move if a senior manager role was available and if it felt like there were real growth opportunities
D3 and D1, Do peeps in the D Federal practice have some work/life balance? I’m not a fan of putting 100 hours per work week unless it’s go live season. Also, because Federal (at least here) is more strict with the hours worked and overtime.
I can't speak to federal.
^ Exceptions such as?
OP it's worth a shot with that much experience. Likely they'll look for industry specialization.
