I left mid-project for a better role, team, and project. 6 mo later no one cares, and I'm still better off.
Communicate and compromise. At risk of sounding cliche - Don't burn bridges. At the end of the day , you're working with people who could potentially help you. As long as you handle things responsibly , I don't think it should be an issue. I had a similar experience and pursued a better internal opportunity. Hope that helps.
Better opportunity = new job or new project?
OP here. I meant better opportunity = better role on a different project.
yeah network is everything. just be careful to not get anybody valuable butt hurt with you
It's a bad idea to jump ship with minimal/no transition window. Depending on your tenure/role, try and plan for at least 2-3 Months to allow proper backfill, KT and seamless transition for the client. If you can do that, good luck! I'm of the mind that it better be one hell of a gig to stay in a project longer than 18mos. Most of the time, I'm bored and ready to roll by month 9, transition right around the one year mark.
