I agree— only pros! I used to think “men don’t give birth, why should they get equal time off?” But there are so many reasons!
- husbands taking more leave = partners having more support and being more likely to return to work
- men taking more leave levels the playing field for pace of advancement and work related expectations for working moms vs dads
- kids, especially daughters, raised in households with more involved dads are more likely to demonstrate interest in a wider array of high profile careers

In what context?

Since you edited your post 😊 - mandatory, equal parental leave is the only way to stop penalizing women for taking leave. That being said, I personally support the birthing parent having medical leave separate from/in addition to parental leave.

I need to let it out but I’m so fucking proud of myself and I just realized how lucky I got and it took me until just now to see it. I started in the military and it only took 2 months for me to get out and fall into a bottomless hole of depression. My transition went from: $13 an hour part time, separation with the wife, new job at $18 an hour for physical labor, hit with disability diagnosis, then $20 an hour new office job, reconnecting with wife, having 2nd kid, nearly divorcing (cont.)

I find myself questioning basic politeness I’ve learned since a child. Wondering what everyone else thinks. I work with an associate. She’s great. When she does good work or something I’ve asked her to do, I, of course, say “thank you!” I don’t really expect a response. She always replies “you’re welcome!” Or some variation. And for some reason, that’s awkward. Is it just me? I know in normal manners, that is the right response. Why does it sit funny?

Does having corporate NPS account make any difference? Ultimately we get 50k additional deduction only ,right? So between an employee giving a voluntary contri of 50k to an individual nps account and another whose employer's contri 50k to corporate account will give the same benefits, isn't this understanding correct?

Hey everyone. I am not an ADHD consultant, but mom to a 6 year old who is very likely ADHD (we will be starting the diagnosis process soon). Anyone have advice for advancing in your current role? My co-worker was hired in at manager level but somehow “proved” he was actually doing director level work and got a title promotion and salary increase in less than a year. I also went above and beyond my job as well (covering for him for a month while he was away on paternity leave) while taking on other projects outside of my job title and got zip—no raise or recognition. How much did you all pay for the 20 week ultrasound out of pocket? My 12 week ultrasound cost me $600 so I am guessing the 20 week one would be even more expensive. I have the high deductible plan from United healthcare.

TMI… 7 weeks and have been struggling with constipation (also 2 months post egg retrieval = lots of hormones). Have tried stool softeners, laxatives, Metamucil… now it is literally just tiny bits of mucus coming out, no normal BM. Has been 10 days since I took a laxative. Has this happened to you? What kind of doctor do I even call or what can I do?
