nothing is impossible as long as you’re selling the right skills. you might have to make some compromises, but this exit would be tough to make, I would think.

At my company I could make the switch easy if I wanted to. 50% of my job involves interviewing and coordinating with FP&A/accounting and providing recommendations. I'm naturally closer with a lot of finance people than some of my IA team. It just depends on the effort you make to network with them.

This is within industry though. Might be tougher if you're coming from public IA

It is possible but I don't see why you wouldn't just go straight into FP&A if that's your goal. IA was so boring; I like FP&A way more. Skill gap between the two is very large and will continue to widen as you get to the senior level and beyond.

Gotcha, I was in that group at KPMG but left for FP&A. It took a lot of job apps and upskilling but it can be done. Otherwise there's the option of joining an industry IA job that does rotations/transfers.
Not that tough. I saw quite a few of my former teammates Went into fp&a or tech accounting roles
Depends on the company, one I interviewed at trains people in IA and then they move people into other groups including FP&A
