Excuse for them to justify not sponsoring MBAs while not losing all campus recruiting marketing. -Ex-EY
Sometimes people think the reason for an education is to learn and your smarts produce a byproduct of income but I recognize most don’t understand this
Are you trying to learn something for free? Then great.
Are you trying to get more money? Not the answer.
I thought getting my M7 MBA would give me: (1) Knowledge (2) Confidence (3) Network.
Turned out the benefits were in the reverse order i.e. I didn’t learn all that much new, but my network is still strong 10 years later. Has it made a difference to my career success? Probably not, except for giving me confidence that I’m not stupid. The network has been more about making lifelong friends.
The EY Tech MBA won’t build your network, and probably won’t build your confidence in the same way. But I’m 100pc certain it will build your knowledge - and skills though practical application - more than a traditional MBA. And the knowledge will be up to date, unlike some traditional business schools’.
And it won’t cost you $200k plus 2 years’ lost income. If you can afford an M7 MBA, go do it. For everyone else, this is an alternative. So I really don’t get those people who say our MBA is no good because it not like an M7 MBA. Life isn’t all about OR - it’s also about AND.
Quick question I want to know how much is salary difference you see after getting an MBA from M7 and someone who is workign along with you and is from decent B school(I am sure that you must be working with peers from decent B school as well). If we see networking I dont think so B school is the only way you could get excellent networking opportunities.
No good exit options. Good for EY only to upskill yourself.
