How old are you, how many years out of undergrad are you, what city are you in, do you own a home, and how much liquid cash (checking/savings, trading, 401k) do you have?
What's your FIRE number / do you feel too young to retire? We are about to hit 2m at 30, and on track for 5m at 35. Even if we hit it, I'm not sure that I'd want to retire. Anyone else feel conflicted like this?
I’m a non resident alien, and recently secured my first job in USA. My employer doesn’t match my 401k contributions until a year of employment. My long term goals do not include retiring in the USA (subject to change). I was wondering if it would make sense to invest in the 401k, and also hoping to learn more about Roth/IRAs. Any advice would be helpful.
I have a new prospect. Small business owner that wants to start a 401k for himself and his employees. Who would be the top 2-3 organizations I contact, and what questions should I ask the providers?
What is your 401k setup? Firm match, % into pre-tax, % into Roth, % after-tax contribution, etc.
Argued with another EA today who tried to tell me a Roth IRA is a waste, that a 401k is all that's necessary... Wouldn't accept that they are two different retirement options and equates to more money
Am I understanding this correctly? Starting at FAANG in a week and have options of mega backdoor. My plan is to convert RSUs to cash at every paycheck, contribute each paycheck into post tax 401k up to annual 38k limit, in-plan convert to Roth 401k, and buy back the shares in Roth 401k for tax free growth. Seems like this is the best tax advantaged option (at least on the first 38k of RSUs every year). Also get $2k HSA funded by company every year for free -> convert? Also will have 2k HSA
Let's inject a little reality into the conversation. I'm 25. $82k salary. Net worth: -$15K But I'm working on it.
Hello Everyone, could someone please help me with the below details. How to find that I am member of pension fund ? or not ? Please please help me out..
ACN folks, does anyone know how to link our 401k account into Personal Capital? Or if it's even possible?
Almost 3 years at pwc and thinking to use 401k and wealth builder to buy my first home...can i use 100% of what I have matured? Will that be taxed? Thanks
I finally hit 100k net worth. That is all. I know many have so much more but feels like a big accomplishment to me.
I fully fund my 401k, an IRA, and a HSA. I do not have any children and I live in a state without a tax beneficial 529. What other tax beneficial accounts are out there for me to save my money
Thinking of making the move from a mid size firm to big 4. What benefits does Deloitte offer (401k, Pto, etc).
For people who were let go at Pwc- were your unvested wealthbuilder and 401k balances accelerated to 100%? They should be since the restructuring likely qualifies as a partial plan termination.
401k question - How to withdraw it after leaving the US without incurring significant taxes? I believe we are taxed at flat 30% and an additional 10% for the early withdrawal. TIA!
Investing Advice please! When you made your first investments (outside of your 401k and benefits at work) how much did you invest and what did you consider when deciding how to invest your $$?
Hi, 23 y/o here, been working for about 6 months now. Really grateful and blessed to have a job right now, but I get a bit overwhelmed when I think about having to do this for 40 more years to have a comfortable retirement. Any advice for fighting off this anxiety/dread?
As more firms move towards greater transparency around performance and salary calculations, why does EY continue to keep the ‘salary bands’ completely hidden from employees?
Has anyone reneged on an accepted offer before? The firm I’m supposed to start with in six weeks isn’t respectful of boundaries or that I’m still employed by my current firm with three weeks left. The new firm sent me a packet with 200 pages of contracts to review and wants to set up a call to discuss.

What are the best PE firms in Toronto?
Has anyone here actually had the time to study for the CPA exams while working? If so, how did you do it? It seems like working at the big 4 you don't have any time to study, let alone breathe.
Goodwin just formalized it’s Recharge Policy. For attorneys who hit hours, they can take a vacation on the firm the next year: $5,000 for juniors, $7,500 for mids and $10,000 for seniors (starting at 5th years). I’ve always felt like Goodwin does a very good job encouraging vacations (most people I know take 3 to 4 weeks including a 2 week vacation). At my last firm, vacations were rare. I’m thrilled with this program, particularly since it helps address burnout.
