Still widely considered the Wild West from a regulatory/market structure perspective. Very quantitatively oriented. Not a bad career choice, just don't get caught up in any rate fixing scandals

Dude fx trading is mostly done by machines and to a limited extent quant/coders. If you mean investing in currencies with a long term view based on macro fundamentals it's a fantastic job but still ridiculously quant ie think nuclear engineers, mechanical engineers and math phds...And Even then you can count on one hand those that make money consistently in the long run
The big boys still make big $$$ as human traders. Despite automation I think there's still space for manual trading. Exit opps: macro funds if you're good. Get into FX options instead, though.
