Does anyone know if the same 401k rules apply at EY as Accenture so they will cap the contributions coming for your check say if you hit the yearly limits in August? So if you hit the 22,500 in 23 there is no way to go over for tax issues. Thinking to frontload next year contributions if market is down. EY
I was laid off during Deloitte‘s mass layoff in July of last year. I have worked as an independent contractor since and projects haven’t been consistent at the client I’m working for. I’m looking to get back into a big firm and was seeing if anyone would be able to refer me or help get my foot in the door. I was a business analyst for 1.5 years at Deloitte and have several years of additional experience which I’d be more than happy to share.

Top 25 is usually a solid move if you eventually want to leave consulting
My advice is compare case vs lecture based schools. Next up - check the career center for their break down on where people end up. Also look at the companies recruiting on campus
I have friends who went there but all were from non-traditional backgrounds (think peace corps, former auditors, etc.). They liked it but they all basically moved in to federal consulting. One data point- I left D for a Corp Strat role in industry and my colleagues are all HBS, Booth, and Duke grads.
Georgetown’s gone way up recently due to heavy undergrad recruiting for finance and MBB/big 4. This seems to have elevated MBA recruiting as well
I passed on McDonough because of two things.
1. I actually applied because I thought it would be great to be there and see first hand how the politics will shape the biz decisions, but ended up passing because I got too tired of politics.
2. It felt like a commuter school - for me it was important to have a sense of community so I went to a program in a city, but still had a sense of community. So, people moved there from different locations. McDonough had a lot of people that already lived in DC and had their relationships and would come to class then go back to their previous life.
All that being said, it was a personal choice and those two things may not bother you. I thought it was a pretty solid program, but you need to think of your location after school too. You go to NYC, You're up against Harvard, Wharton, Stern, Columbia, etc. If you go to Atlanta - you're up against Darden and Fuqua. So unless you're really good at networking or have strong alumni connex it'll be an uphill battle in that group.
Go to M7 full time or it’s not worth your time and $ (coming from a top 15 grad)
Don't think that is true.. it is easier to make it worth while if you end up at M7 but that shouldn't be the only factor
Depends on what you want to do after
Definitely don't want to do Consulting afterwards. Goal is probably to move towards Corp Strategy/Corp Dev
