Hi All, I recently interviewed at Amazon and Google for software engineer and passed both interviews. I have an offer on the table from Amazon but with Google I am officially in team matching and my recruiter tells me that the queue is pretty backed up now and it can take a long time. My question is should I take the Amazon offer now or decline Amazon and hold out for Google? I have heard that Google has better wlb/benefits. But I'm scared to decline Amazon without a guaranteed job offer.

Think about what you want in life right now. I know for me, my exit wasn't 100% what I expected but I realized that WLB was way more important to me than anything else.
No.
Why not?
Wouldn’t you have a pay raise soon this summer at your PA firm? If so 20% is like nothing
Not to mention working about 600 hours less than I currently do
No, because the progression for each subsequent level is unpredictable. Like in PA, if you show you're progressing, you'll get the promotion. In industry, you can show the progression and if there's no spot for you it can take a long time to get promoted. But if wlb is one of your top priorities, then all of the above may not matter.
Yes. I came from a large regional firm and went to a senior accountant role. It was worth it. You have to get a year or two of industry experience to get a cush manager job working 40 hours.
