What's a typical hourly wage for a new department manager? This is my first department specific job. (I've worked retail before but always floated between departments as a sales associate) I was recently promoted to be in charge of 2 of our smaller departments and I am the only employee who works in them on a daily basis.

I recently accepted a position with a new org. One of the benefits I asked about with offer was the parental leave policy and was told (in writing by HR) 16 weeks paid after 1 year, which is as good as you can hope for in US. Now I’ve been sent the employee handbook to review/sign and it says only 12 weeks, which is less than the org I’m leaving. What might my recourses be to negotiate 16 weeks when the time comes? Also, should I be viewing this is a red flag?
