Hi Folks,
My wife has 5 years of experience in Banking Industry now she want to switch her career in IT, she has worked as coding instructor for html/css/js/react native, she has React certification as well. Now she is ready to take interviews.
Now how to convey this to recruiters and are they ok to take interview for frontend developer, how much experience can be considered and what salary can be expected?

Would a 30% raise be worth no longer being able to do anything except work during the week.
Personally i would say enjoy the trainimg, coaching and work life balance
I’ve just had my 1 year anniversary at a small boutique firm with a very niche focus. Prior to consulting, I spent a few years in industry, and found that work way more intense than my current role. I was consistently working 90+ hours a week and got totally burnt out. I quit and took a pretty major pay cut when I started at my current company.
Honestly, I love everything about my job except my pay. The people are great, the coaching and development is great. I rarely work more than 45 hours a week (although a lot of my coworkers do, so maybe I’m just staffed on easier projects?) and travel 20% MAX.
The demand for the type of work we do is rapidly increasing, and recently a number of my coworkers have left to do the same thing at Accenture / KPMG / Deloitte for a 50% or more increase in pay.
I’d love to see that kind of pay jump, but am hesitant about the possible increase in hours and the definite increase in travel. Has anyone here made a similar move / have any insights?
What is it that you do, if you don’t mind me asking?
Size up your network and decide if it enough to support your own book of business in 5 or 10 years. It sounds like it is not so time to shop. Remember to leave on a good note.
