Will they be Guidigant? GuidiNavi? NaviHouse? (Living for the Avatar options with this one)

Very optimistic! Cultural change and integration will be a little uncomfortable but this was a good strategic move for GH

As a former PwC federal person who saw numerous PwC federal acquisitions, they just never seemed to go well. Hopefully Navigant is of a higher caliber than some of our other previous buys what were complete mismatches IMHO

You know what, let me retract that overly broad statement and give you something more nuanced. You mentioned RGI, so I’ll start there: i don’t think anyone would call that acquisition a success. We acquired a bunch of low-value contracts that we couldn’t successfully recompete, and a couple hundred people who weren’t up to the caliber of PwC (and hated that we acquired them). Those guys all had cushy staff aug projects made possible by the fact that they were an SDVOSB, and fitting them onto a typical PwC engagement was REALLY hard. Proposal work? Don’t know how. Work more than 40 hours a week? Impossible. Culturally oil/water That sounds arrogant, but having worked on the team who absorbed the RGI personnel, and had to mentor a handful, I’m confident in that assessment. To a different degree, I feel like PRTM had a decent amount of friction. I know they weren’t a federal acquisition, but their footprint in DC meant we shared a bit of overlap. Those guys and gals were certainly smart, but they HATED us, haha. Even the front desk receptionist was openly hostile towards PwC people. I can’t speak to how financially successful that was, but from a cultural standpoint that was a little rough from my perspective. PwC acquired Ants Eye View, and the two partners from that acquisition didn’t stick around long. I tried using them on a project, but their offering was super niche so it was hard to sell it to my clients. Returning to my previous statement: RGI was the only pure-federal acquisition that I had a front row seat to, but there were other acquisitions that happened that I was around for that didn’t really seem to be good fits. Perhaps I just have an overly rosy view of what a successful acquisition should look like from a cultural perspective, but by my estimates, Navigant is at least twice the size of GuideHouse, yet Guidehouse is technically buying them (despite some unfortunate turnover over the past year). I liked working for PWC PSP, and I sincerely hope this is a good play, but I have my hesitations

Well yes but how do Guidehouse and Navigant employees feel about this transaction?

I’m very optimistic. Surprised we’re buying a firm almost triple our size, but looking forward to seeing how this all plays out.

High performer, good ratings, fully staffed - still nervous about the future of Deloitte and having a job in 6 months. Seriously considering starting to look for new jobs. Man this sucks.
