Is audit experience mandatory for advisory in big 4? I applied EY FAAS but has been told by recruiter that audit experience is required. So they recommend me to go to audit team for two busy season then apply for FAAS. Can anyone let me know if It’s true? Also if I go to audit WAM. Is it going to limit my opportunities to only FS industry when I apply for advisory like one year later? I want to work on different industry clients in advisory in the future. Btw I do not have audit experience now.
boutique vs. big 4 vs. MBB? Pros and cons.
I’m going thru a coding bootcamp with the expectation of passing the Network+ exam in Dec19. What kind of jobs do I qualify in B4. Trying to go for the IT route. I have experience in FS audit.
Does anyone here know if MBA school admissions care if you leave big 4 for smaller firm before applying? Still a global firm but smaller. If so, why?
What is this about OT labor laws that took effect on 12/1/16 resulting in Big 4 layoffs nationwide? Does anyone know a little more about this?
Joined a FDD group month ago with a smaller firm, clients are small. Revenue 1m above. Was thinking of getting the experience first then go FDD big 4? I'm ex big4 tax senior.
Joined a Big 4 out of college. Been two full years with A-123 IT internal audit with experience in tool dev./sharepoint/vba. Will have my CISA w/in a year. What are my exit choices besides audit?

Hello fellow Freelancers! I’ve just quit my FT job as a senior accountant at a Big 4 accounting firm. My hope is to gain enough freelance work to continue working on my own and enjoy freedoms of being a freelancer. Please send me a message if you are looking for a freelance CPA!
Would you take a 25-30% bump in pay to jump from Big 4 to a relatively struggling fashion retailer? Why or why not?
Anyone have perspective on how MBB (specifically Bain) benefits are better than big 4? I heard Bain contributes 4.5% of salary to your 401k regardless of any employee contributions, which is great. Any other big perks that make their benefits package superior to others (eg. Big 4)?
I have an offer to join Commercial Assurance but I’m not sure what career path that could lead me to if I was to leave Big 4 - thoughts?
Has anyone made a switch from B4 to professional services at a software company? Why you made the move? Lessons learned. Thanks.
I joined B4 after college in 2019 and ever since working as QA, mainly manual/ functional testing. Can't see any progress work wise in same projects/teams. Before job, I wasn't a complete nerd but I did have some sense of programming so I wish to use that in my real life work in future. Can someone suggest how should I use my spare time so as to not be stuck in manual testing or testing itself? I'm somewhat lost when thinking of career progression after maybe next 5 years.
Give me a comp number that I should give my recruiter at EY. Currently $120k TC, non-big 4, 4 YOE. Interviewed for FS senior consultant level. Finished all interviews but did not talk compensation in the beginning when they asked.
If you were looking to exit Big 4 Consulting, what positions would you be targeting? I have done a little of everything with no specialization (great performance reviews across the board). But now a little unsure of what my skills really are from an employer POV.
Would you go from a Big 4 SM (recently promoted) to an ACN high end M (with a promise to make SM in a year) for a 40% pay bump? Being paid way too low at my current firm, as I'm home grown but have strong relationships.
Any creatives moved to the states on a sponsored visa? Agency is interested in hiring us and willing to sponsor, but I'm anxious about the likelihood of it working out. How likely is it to get the visa once sponsored?
I’m a Florida-licensed commercial litigator looking to get out of my lawyer job and into a compliance/advisory role. Any tips on what sort of roles/company would be a good fit? I’m in Orlando. Thanks!
Interviewing for a position at Capital One. I'm willing to move to the location in the job requisite. However with current environment of COVID, I would prefer to remain remote ans travel 1x or 2x a quarter. When is the best time to bring this up? During interviews with the hiring managers or when I get an offer?
ACN 🐠. What is the expectation at a M role in US/UKI and can someone tell the difference from a delivery center like India? Might be transferring and would like to understand the added responsibilities from day to day perspective. Getting imposter syndrome now.
What's the big hype with MBB? Fairly new to US work life, I'm an ML Engineer (technical client facing role at KPMG). I got recruiters reach out on LinkedIn on behalf of 2 of the 3 acronyms and the roles seemed to be mostly focused on PowerPoint decks creation. I don't have an MBA which I understand it's a prerequisite for hiring in these groups, though I have a PhD in Machine Learning from a big technical school in the US. Is it worth pursuing such exits, friends?
I FINALLY have a start date for IVF STIMs 11/5 and my company is requiring us to RTO on 11/1. I’ve expressed concerns and have asked to extend WFH for a period of time due to medical necessity (if I get sick, the cycle is cancelled and I’m out $$$$ and my sanity) but HR is asking me and my doctor to fill out forms that essentially say I’m unwilling to get the vaccine, which isn’t true. Does anyone have advice on how to handle? They’re saying this is the only form that’s applicable.
Signing bonus commitment date is coming up. Should I provide notice to quit now knowing that I’m going to leave after the date passes? I don’t want to hurt the project but I don’t want to screw myself
Any recruiters receive a sign on bonus from Amazon? What sign on bonus amount is typical to receive from Amazon for recruiters?
Wife got lawyer, and I am interviewing lawyers starting tomorrow. I am primary breadwinner (95%), but she is citing at-fault divorce. I have been having substance abuse issues and anger issues (no physical violence). Need help. She is okay about negotiating outside lawyers. Can anyone recommend a divorce lawyer in ATL area? Any pointers? No kids. Married for 3 years. I paid her student loans and put her through school.
Business class travel for domestic: whats your firms' policy? Deloitte you can only travel business for flights over 7hrs, then again its project and level dependent. The onetime I requested business class flight to London my SM didn't approve due to client budget. I'm in Chicago. @Mckinsey, BCG, Bain?
What is your best classroom management trick?
So.. EY’s health insurance through BCBS only covers Pap smears every 3 years now… HOW is this okay. I just paid $990 out of pocket because the rules changed this year. I’m pissed
I have questions for EY Tax technology and transformation team. I am getting promoted this year as a tax senior and thinking of switching firms. I do have a tech background (info sys/data science) with knowledge on basic programming languages which i am certain that i forgot most of them.. Will they still pick me up as a senior or would i have to go down as a staff level? Also curious about what they do & their compensation.
It’s 2020, are men still expected to pay on the first date or is it acceptable to split 50-50? Not trying to start a whole debate on modern gender dynamics, I just need practical advice.

If you are not married or without your own family, would you move back with your parents if you have been laid off? Or would you dip into savings / unemployment to keep the lights on?
