Other than CFOs because it is cheaper to do, I don’t know who is a fan
Service lines who don't spend time in the office (audit staff, healthcare advisory, every partner, etc) should hotel. Tax and valuations should get their own desks.
I really don’t care. Kind of nice, forces me to be neater
One of the driving factors why I'll leave...I see it as the firm telling me I'm not worth the money to have my own dedicated space (much less will never have my own office), and I'm tax, so in the office most days. I know we are all expendable, but at least pretend I'm not
P1, out of curiosity, would it be good within the model to push WFH more? My group is very old school and the lead partner is in by 9, no WFH, etc, but I seems slightly counter productive to the tax model. Is there any tone from the top pushing a balanced environment but saying work from your own real estate?
It sucks when you can’t get a desk. Also if you have an upset stomach
Oh ok
It is counter productive when you have people around you that talk loudly or listen to your conversations, conf calls, etc.
Not always
I’m tax and I prefer the hoteling honestly. I don’t need much personal stuff at work to be comfortable and don’t mind switching up who I sit near. I think it falls flat when other people don’t check out desks as they should, and depend on people who aren’t in the office much to just know where “their” desk is, versus just checking out the whole week.
Makes sense, I’m never in the office so why waste dollars that can go to salaries in an open desk?
You think it goes to salaries?????
