Depends on what you want. Not to sound too bitter, but it’s work. What’s more important: doing “great work” no one cares about except us, or having a better work/life balance? Obviously, don’t work somewhere you’ll be miserable, but, to me, awards and incredible work don’t mean much if it’s taking a toll on my personal life. As the saying goes, no one on their deathbed ever said “I wish I spent more time at the office."
Not a creative... but with a lot of in-house agencies becoming the norm these days, I'm not sure how it could hurt. In another five or ten years, that might be all there is.
Depends on the work. In-house Nike/Target is different than in-house Nestle/Pharma.
I just switched to in-house and it’s been amazing so far. Most of the stuff we get to work on is real, not just endless deck making. Better work/life balance, more autonomy, better pay and honestly; better work.
Not really. I think if you already have a nice book it really doesn't matter. having something like spotify in your resumee would look good even if you don't prosuce good work, you can always talk about the experience and the learnings from the other side. Now if you don't have a lot of work on your book you will rely more on producing stuff. What will matter more in the end will be always your book.

Also, never take career advice from someone who puts “great work” in quotations.
Yes
Depends where it is and what you want long term.
It definitely depends on what you wants If you can still get some portfolio pieces it might be okay. I know everyone thinks in-house creative departments are the future but I think it’s all the rage now and things will swing back from there.
