After my third interview, the HR manager said they will be in touch with me for the last round of interviews with VP. They were waiting for her to come back from a vacation. They never reached and it has been 2 weeks! I would like to send a follow-up email. What do you think and what should I say?

I just started a new job and would like to take a week off at the end of the summer for a vacation to visit family. My husband is a teacher so the summer is the only time we can take a full week off this year (other than December, which we already have off). And my vacation time here does not roll over, so if I don’t use my time, it gets wasted. Is it too early to ask for a week off in 2 months?

I’ve been waiting for security clearance since July and just found out I’m pregnant after trying for a year. I’m hoping clearance will be granted in early spring 2021 and I can start work soon after. Thankfully taking unpaid time off isn’t a big issue (won’t be eligible for FMLA or parental leave), but worried about timing and telling HR & my supervisor. I’m planning to tell them once I start; know timing isn’t ideal and stressed about starting off on the wrong foot. Any advice?

To the lender counsel that forgot to mention they needed original signature pages for a deal that closed early this year and decided to chase and harass me a day before thanksgiving and a day after thanksgiving multiple times. F*ck you. I don’t know what is driving your lack of courtesy but I have represented the same bank before and know their usual original signature requirement.

I realized recently that I can turn my “super associate” persona at any time. I had it off during covid when my kids needed me and got a bad review. So now it’s back on. I’m responding to midnight emails (and daytime ones in under 20 minutes) and getting work done the same morning. I’m spending countless hours doing edits over edits. I actually don’t like super associate. Why do people live like this 24/7?!? 🤔
