He said what needs to be said, and everyone else is afraid to say. Good for Jim.

It was a bit on the nose, and reopens the HCOL vs LCOL salary adjustments conversation. His phrasing could have been better.

Points on HCOL vs LCOL are valid, but forcing employees to come back into the office is another sign that IB/high finance, which was once the most coveted exit post-MBA or transition into, is playing second fiddle to tech. The industries that cling to the old school way because “that’s the way we do things here” (IB and big law in particular) are going to continue to lose out to FAANG and startups because they can’t adapt. Culture is king, and sooner or later these stubborn CEOs are going to realize they need to listen to their employees or risk losing out on the best talent.

Makes me glad I chose Tech and not Finance.

I love what he said and 100% agree.

Any thoughts/insights on how the travel aspect would play out in PwC's Salesforce practice in the post COVID world? Will they want us to be on the road 4 days a week or it will be much more hybrid? If it's the latter, how much % of travel should someone working at PwC's Salesforce practice expect?

Interested in getting others perspective here. Senior consultant but received an offer in healthcare industry for more money and an upgraded title. TC for the offer is about a 25% increase, with the base being higher than my current TC. Currently working on a high profile client and have a decent chance of being promoted to manager next year but will probably go through hell this year to get it and it’s not a sure thing. Should I take the money and run?

If you started working at a company for like a year as a staff level, for example 2019-present, and this is reflected on LinkedIn, do you guys update any promotions to show it as (the date or year of promotion) -present... or just show it as 2019-present? I’ve seen people do the latter more but is that even right?

I am going to make a move from the US to Canada in a month. I started browsing for places to rent and trying to pin down a decent area to live. I will be moving with my wife and 1 year old twins. I will have a car. What are some good areas to live? We are looking for a bigger space than apartments- ideally a townhome or semi-detached. I will work for Deloitte, so the office will be downtown. Not sure if driving is advisable as a daily commute as and when things open up.
