Deloitte
Hi everyone, I just had a first round interview for Deloitte M&A Valuation Analyst role based in Australia. I feel like I went pretty well, they were pretty keen at my Analytics background ( DA/Modelling) & my interest in finance (preparing CFA L1 atm)
However I haven’t heard back anything after two days(e.g. book my time for round 2 interview)…I know there is supposed to two more round of interviews.
Just wondering if this is the normal waiting time or I’m not the person they looking?

Thoughts on denton’s DC office?
I made a move mid this year (right before the market slow down) as a third year in similar circumstances and can say that
- if you know you want to make a switch, much better to do it as more junior
- unless the practice area you are gonna switch to is similar to what you are doing rn, you will very likely have to take a class cut
- make a move if you think it will be worth the efforts to basically start over and learn new skill sets and to integrate into a new firm while taking a risk that you may not like the practice group or the firm
I think my answer is yes and I’m fine taking a one year class cut. Only thing holding me back is that I’d be subject to getting laid off
It’s better to retool earlier than later. The market is slower but firms are still hiring (depending on your practice). What are you doing now and what do want to switch to? That can also affect your traction in this market if it’s a major shift.
Changing within your firm isn’t an option? Also a rising second year and I just did that.
