Thoughts on leaving before finding a new job? Feel like I don’t have the time to really search for something new. I have about month and a half of PTO payout at 24 years old and have a decent amount saved up.

Take your PTO and use it to hunt. You're at an advantage while you have a job.

I just did that exact thing OP. I am a 25 yo. I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders! A few things I personally did before I quit.. 1. Set myself up with numerous job interviews for my time off, 2. Lowered my expenses, 3. Saved in advance. All of this meaning just make sure you have a plan because it is an emotional process if you are a type A person. Feel free to dm if you have questions.

I recommend to do math. We have no idea what decent means to you and don’t know what bills you need to pay. Make sure you factor in timing on a new job. Interviewing and even once an offer is signed there will be a delay for background checks.

If you really dislike your current job and also have the financial means to support yourself for ~6 months (the amount of time it may take you to a find a new one) then go for it!

I'd recommend to actively apply while still at D (take that PTO btw). When one of them got through, then take some break in between for the interviews. The time from first interview to offer (and finally the contract) can take a while. And trust me, you want to have the peace of mind of being financially (and emotionally) secure during that period. I'm 27. Also have the same exact thoughts earlier this year, and really glad I did not leave before securing the contract (which takes almost 3 months).

How do you all feel about splitting vacations 50/50 in a relationship and dates 60/40? I might be old fashioned but this rubs me the wrong way. I feel like I have to work 2x as hard to be taken seriously at work as a woman and pay for all kinds of crap like hair appts, nails, makeup, outfits to be viewed positively by men. Not to mention, expensive birth control, periods, and eventually potentially having a child. 50/50 makes me feel like a friend and not that valued. Thoughts?

Didn't get promoted and the more I think about it, the more upset I become. Had a good year, helped fill in gaps, took on roles to help lead internal initiatives, led/managed teams to success, and worked looonnnggg hours to the point of burnout. Leaders also know how much I was working. I didn't expect a promotion because I had low expectations for my firm, but I'm still pretty bitter. Should I ask why? Was I too naive and ended up giving too much? Or is this a reflection of my work/value?
