Trying for a job in the big 4 as a senior associate. No luck yet. Any suggestions 🐠. Close to 5 years experience and a Masters Degree. Looking for jobs in Data & Analytics - DW & BI.
Hi Tax Bowlers, I'm an experienced associate (2yrs) in a Big 4 Transfer Pricing division. I have reached a point in my career where I am considering taking up a professional certification. Several colleagues recommended taking up either ACCA or CFA, however, I see little connection between these certifications and the work that I am currently doing, and what I plan to do in the future. What would you guys suggest? Would it be detrimental to my career if I did not take up any certifications?
What is work life balance like at Alverez and Marsal? Specifically for transaction advisory/financial due dilligence

How long do you stay at a company until you request an internal transfer? I was at one b4 for awhile and then left after about 3 years to another (audit to advisory) been here almost 6mos but would like to get into more general consulting or just another advisory line if possible... not that I do not like my current spot, I just have decided it does not aligned with my LT goals... anyone had a similar experience?
Accounting advisory at big 4 versus middle market… what are the differences if any? I have offers from the big 4 and BDO/RSM. Wondering if the hours is worth it to step down to middle market
Working as an audit staff in big 4 shared service centre. It's been 2 years. I really don't like what I do there, also it seems I won't like what I'll be doing there even after becoming senior. Thinking of leaving and joining industry once ACCA qualified. (One more paper left). But people around me discourage that growth potential and earnings in industry are way less compared to public accounting. I know that too but I still want to leave. I'd like to stick to core accounting. Thoughts pls
PwC CMAAS offer in hand, but one thing holding me back from accepting at the moment is the work/life balance. I’m transferring from audit. I understand work/life is a little crazy right now in CMAAS. Is this expected to cool down? What were hours like before things got crazy? Better than B4 audit hours? Thanks!
Background:Asia, expecting to promote to M this cycle. Looking for some advice on being headhunted/jumping ship. I’m speaking to HR from another big 4 + a recruiter for another firm for an M role, and it looks like the $ and potentially benefits will be bigger, but I’m not that keen on moving unless the $ is a huge jump. Any advice on how I might navigate this? Have interviews next week for the other roles.

Got a verbal offer from a big 4 a month ago, discussed salary expectations 3 weeks ago, still no offer letter. Firm has to let me know it should be coming soon. Are these normal timelines?
Have Deloitte promo timelines gotten considerably longer recently? Have heard about: A -> C = 3 years, C -> SC = 4 years, SC -> M = 4 years. Is it the same across other B4 firms?

Anybody work at Amazon? Are their offers negotiable? My husband got an offer for a senior position in the VA office paying $120k plus $20k bonus plus 13 shares of stock that vest over 4 years. My husband has ~6 years of experience (2 yrs midsize PA plus various industry roles) so the senior title is low but have heard you have to take a step down in title to work at Fortune 25 companies. He likes the offer but not sure if he should negotiate for more because it’s expected?

What's the best consulting firms for H1B folks who have studied masters in STEM here? Got a cousin graduating this fall and he needs to know H1B/GC policies.
Am I an attractive candidate at all? Or is it silly to think I could jump soon for a comp increase? 1 yoe BAH fed (7 yoe in nonprofit sector before that), currently at 90k. Have some generalist certifications (agile, prosci, working on instructional design). Non-technical, no master’s. Resume is mostly attractive bc of extensive international/cross-cultural experience & DoS experience. Am I still too “meh” with only 1yoe & no tech skills?
Help! My toddler doesn’t want to eat anything but cheese and fruit and peanut butter. We have been trying the “you provide, they decide” thing but her decision is to not eat. She’s always been small and doctor said we need to get her weight up. Any ideas or recipes? Getting desperate!
