Relax, get some certifications/trainings, connect with friends. These times don’t come around often.

I was on the bench this past summer for 2 months and I felt nervous about career development during it, but ended up being pretty nice looking back. Took advantage of the free time and still got staffed in-time to meet utilization targets. If you’re being saved for another opportunity, and you have a good feeling about your trajectory, id just take advantage of the free time.

Exactly. Why?

Good luck?

I’m an associate but I wouldn’t leave. Reach out to your EM everyday until they find you a role

Leave before they make you...

Relax? Lol I'd be looking around

Let them fire you

I’m a 2nd year and effectively just ran a deal on my own with the partner. It ran smoothly, I got praise from the partner, and the partner said that they trust me to do most stuff without their sign off (so no need to check with them in future unless I’m really unsure). Generally there is one or two mid levels above me, and I find it way harder to do my job when they are managing me. They like to keep me on the bench, get me to do minor tasks and don’t let me take responsibility and ownership.

Never been on the bench. Always been 90+% utilization rate. Can I just be on the bench so I can study for CPA 🤣😭

I have a feeling my Engagement Partner wants me to quit the engagement. It's my 3rd week, but he's been nothing but rude, demeaning and unhelpful. Refuses to answer any of my questions and then berates and belittles me for not knowing the answers. He already threatened to "replace" me if I don't show adequate progress. Roll off voluntarily or wait until he fires me?

All these posts about people getting laid off are making me paranoid. I’ve been on the bench since the beginning of February and scheduled to start my maternity leave 4/28. 😬
