I'm 19 and on an apprenticeship at Deloitte. I intend to see it through but I work in Audit and have hopes to move into FA, M&A, or similar. Internal or external (Anything other than audit really). What would be the best routes to go for and what qualifications/experience could I gain in the mean time that would stand me in good stead?

I have worked 9 months in audit and luckily passed CPA exams. I am trying to get into FDD asap and I saw some people did that with less than one year experience last year. I heard that the M&A activities slow down this year and firms overrecruited in 2021. All the FDD job posts either need 2+ years experience or at least 1 year FDD experience. Should I take a shot?

Are firms doing engagements for less than $40k for small deals? Got pushback from a client that estimated fees of 40-50k were high lol. They normally use the most hallowed firm on fishbowl, not us. These are the lowest fees I've ever quoted and don't really see how it's worth people's time in a busy market for $20-30k. I get strategic losses but sheesh, fuck that

FDD bonuses for S1?

Internal audit rotational program in F100 (jump around different departments for 2 years) till they place you in a department (move out of internal audit) making $110k. Or stay in FDD at $82k (prob 90k after comp discussion) as new S1 but unsure what to do after.

I have an FDD job offer for 80k base, 10k sign on bonus and 15% - 20% performance bonus, is that fair for a HCOL city (not NYC)? The offer isn’t with an accounting firm. I am currently a senior in audit making 85k base plus 5k or so bonus. Next raise and bonus payout is in two months.
