Does anyone else hate medical coding? I got my CPC and loved learned all about it! But once I started actually working in it, I hate it. They talk about how it’s all about translating procedures to numbers. But it’s not! It’s all about Money. All about how much RVUs the codes have so the provider gets the most reimbursement. Went to a networking cocktails last night with LPs. For some odd reason there were quite a few young attractive women mixing it up, but who couldn’t explain what they did or where they worked.
Turns out the organizer hired models to do the rounds because otherwise “there would be too many dudes”. Maybe I’m getting old but I felt more, not less awkward and uncomfortable 🤦‍♂️

Is there a big difference between MM and B4 WLB? I liked the people at the MM firm better, but don't if B4 means that much I could see myself staying.

Since I do expect a slow down to occur in the short term, and I've noticed other firms pushing people to audit and other services with need, would it be rude to preemptively reach out to restructuring partners before my firm pushes us to audit? I really don't want to work in audit like at all. I'd prefer to stay in FDD, but I'd much prefer restructuring over audit

This was supposed to be the first year EY implemented a firm-wide mid-year bonus which would have been paid in January. Curious if other firms have a mid year bonus (based on their fiscal year) and if so, what have the amounts been historically? Select high performers with high utilization will still receive a little something this year similar to prior years (only ~$5k-10k tho).

Imo, given turnover RLs should communicate base comp changes today and bonuses later once available. Stop the turnover pipeline.

What do you think makes more sense:
a) Stay in audit and get M1 promo this year, and then later try to transfer to FDD at manager level.
b) Move to FDD right now as S3, settle in at more relaxed pace but only hit M1 promo in 2 years.
