We did. Still think it was a great decision. We saved the money for a house we just purchased.

Still spent about 8k though.

It will really just be the two of us and a few family members, so literally small. I just want it to still feel special.

We only had 30 people. It was a great event. It just took hard conversations before the event with those who felt entitled to an invite.

Wow. Mine was under $1000 with rings.

I haven’t even thought about budget, but less than $2k

I'm really interested in knowing how you folks are doing it under 10k

I am sure. The Who is very important when it is that intimate. I’d honestly be fine if it were just the two of us, but family is important too. I want it to be something where we are in the moment. My first wedding was a blur. I honestly don’t remember much of the day at all. It’s like it was for everyone else.

Had about 75 people. Got a huge discount on the photography from a professional friend and then just purchased a wedding package from a local planner.

Under a grand, D1?!? How?!? I'm planning mine and can barely control the budget inflation

Yes, pictures are important to me. And I’d like a nice bouquet and dress.

Write vows? Yikes

OP you married before?

Well. He wants to just go to a courthouse, so I’m letting go of anything I had envisioned. Focusing on what it will mean to be married vs. the wedding.

I grabbed a few more bottles last night while I was out. I’ve been hearing rumblings about Droptine 12 Point. It’s NDP, NAS, and finished in Brandy Barrels. Consensus so far after an initial tasting last night: not worth it at $50. Sweet brandy comes through on the nose, but you can also tell the distillate is very young. The palate has more brandy notes up front, but fades quickly into some displeasing oak profiles. I will revisit it in a week or two and see how I feel about it then.

I’m honestly so desperate to leave BIG4 right now. I’ve had offers at other big4 firms which I’m sure are all the same. I’m miserable every day and I really just want more work life balance. I’m trying to hold out until manager but it feels like it’s a million years away. Anyone else feel like this? What helped you hang on?

I currently work as an accountant for a small business (private accounting) in Seattle-Bellevue, WA for 4+ years. I was under working visa and it was tough to find visa sponsorship. Now, I don’t need work visa anymore and I’ve been thinking to switch job and have always wanted to work for public accounting. Is it worth it to do it, considering I will most likely have to be associate/staff first? Could you give me some insights for me? I really appreciate it. Thank you!
