Thoughts on moving downmarket ie from a BB/EB to a middle market large balance sheet bank? Enjoy the work but hours suck. Obviously pay will be less. Have heard good things about RBC type of places

Are you trying to improve your hours? It depends on the group moreso than the bank. RBC healthcare is a sweatshop, for example

How bad of a sweatshop...

Healthcare is probably the worst coverage group at RBC, but it’s still better than the Bulges with regards to hours. Wouldn’t say that pay is “less”; it’s pretty much in line with the other Bulges. A true MM bank like PNC/SunTrust would have much better hours but pay is noticeably docked... then again your often living out of the most costly metropolitan areas so your COL is much improved.

Thanks for the insights, when you say less hours do you have a range? Also goes for senior associates / VPs? Thanks again!

Also depends on region. Midwesternerd and Southerners love their Sundays off as a general(but not universal) rule.
