How do I make the most out of my role when my FP&A role is glorified admin and accounting but pay is good?

I moved firms a little over 3 months ago and have realized my new role is way too qualitative/pmo oriented and I prefer more quantitative work. I had a little over 3 YoE at my old firm (first job out of undergrad). How long should I stick around in my current role even though I feel it isn’t a great fit? I’m worried about job hoping too quickly but also don’t want to lose my quantitative skill set and be blacklisted for roles that are a better fit.

Do you think it’s possible to work part time as a corporate associate? New mom, based in Boston, currently at an amlaw100 firm that is a big Boston firm. I’ve requested 80% but wondering if that’s really possible. Also in an ideal world (which probably does not exist…) I would love to work until 3 PM and be the kind of mom that picks up the kiddo from school for the daycare/preschool/elementary years). The trick is I actually like corporate work.

I know that if we require an employee to participate in any training that it must be paid. However, we want to give employees the opportunity to request voluntary training if they want to, for example, brush up on creating powerpoints or learn how to create effective sentences or how to deal with difficult people. If an employee requests voluntary training that could potentially make them a better employee, do we have to pay for it? Can we require that employees complete any voluntary training during their personal time?
