Pharma/biotech is always a risk. The firm spends $billions on R&D and pray to god that FDA will approve their products/methodologies, etc...

This! Just had a coworker exiting into a smallish Biotech and 2 weeks later they announced that their key trials failed and they had to let go half of the staff.
Maybe there are also upsides, can’t comment on that.
