Thoughts on moving to another agency if you feel you are not learning/being challenged/have meaningful work where you're at? Do I stick it out for 6mo-year or make the move somewhere else?

Always take the interview. Even if it's just to make new contacts and learn about another agency.

Take experience over titles. I know we all want to move up as quickly as possible, but whenever I encounter someone who only has a year or two experience, and an inflated title, it ALWAYS shows. This isn't meant as an insult to you, but seriously, focus on becoming an expert and learn as much as you can at your level before you decide to jump ship for a better title. If you need more of a challenge, let your supervisor know. Sure you can jump to a new place every year till you have a "sr." in your title, but what will you have learned? You will be approached for higher titles over and over again in your career, this isn't your only shot. Take this as an opportunity to learn, then take that experience to a new shop who will appreciate that you put in your dues.

Stick it out lol you're an AAE. I know I'm not much better but then you'll look like a total flake if you dont

Yup that makes sense 👆but I would urge you to ask you supervisor if there's anything more challenging you can work on before considering leaving after only 6 months. It may be that at your level, you don't get a taste of what's really going on at your agency, but asking to be put on more challenging work will show you're eager to learn and more opportunities may be given to you, especially if you're already killing it in your other work. I would also caution you about jumping just to get more challenging work. It ebbs and flows at every agency. Some months you're working on the hardest shit you've ever worked on, some months you can leave at 5pm every day. Just because you aren't challenged now doesn't mean you won't be.

This is a fair topic to have with your boss! Just be honest.

Thanks for the advice @SDP1 & @LB1. Lots of great points and things to consider. I have been with my current agency for ~6 months and fear that I am not being challenged to learn anything new or even touch meaningful projects in the early stages. I wouldn't move for a title in particular, more wondering if another agency could give me work that actually makes me use my brain...

Fair point and I agree to an extent... but I was recently reached out to by someone from another agency offering an AE position? I definitely don't want to look like a "total flake" but don't want to turn down a potentially better position just Bc I don't want to look "flakey" lol

I'm going through the same thing! Wonder if we're at the same place... hmmm. 🤔

Keep hearing that most exits in LCOL cities will take a payout if you’re a PL, but that there are a lot of roles that are remote, job market is hot, etc. so that most PLs are getting a pay bump. How do you reconcile these two?

Suggestions for a birthday gift for myself? My boyfriend has been asking for weeks & I keep saying nothing but he is not having it. I have a comfortable life & can’t think of anything other than a nice night out, which is already common in our relationship. I suggested a nice set of cookware because I enjoy cooking on our nights in but he jokes it’s a little too domestic. An engagement is already in the works so jewelry seems silly & I WFH so even high end shoes/bags can wait. Thoughts?

Hi everyone. Not sure this post falls into the right category but here it goes: I have been talking to two agencies who are interested in my work. One already made an offer. The other has not yet, but we are in a second round of interviews. My question: is it appropriate to bring the fact that I have already an offer from an agency 1 when talking to agency 2? I am very interested in the second agency but I’d like them to know that I can’t wait too long. Thoughts?
