I don't work email while drunk.

If I’m at the computer working - sure. If not - no.

I might send “ok will do” but otherwise I don’t respond until morning unless it’s genuinely urgent.

I don’t respond unless it’s related to something happening the very next morning

like

Damn… really surprised at these responses. What are your practice groups?

Managing my own clients in funds just makes me anxious that I am behind deadline which certainly makes me reply when emails come in.

10 PMish is my cutoff unless closing is that week

like

It depends on if it a pressing matter otherwise see you at 9 am

like

7:30 cutoff unless I have a court deadline the next day. Don’t even check my work email the rest of the night unless I know something pressing is coming.

like

I usually log off for a couple hours from 6-8 for dinner/family time. I usually log back in for a bit, but it’s mostly to finish up things from my day. That said, if there’s nothing urgent going on and I am mostly caught up, I sometimes don’t log back in at all. It’s almost always fine to respond with the classic “will do” to stuff I get asked after hours.

Don’t

9 pm ish cutoff for non super active deals. 2nd year Corp. Start responding around 830ish in the morning

The PE culture is sick. The 20 something VP was rude to our partner because our team took thanksgiving and the day before off and it was in the engagement letter that we were gonna be off. He kept emphasizing that his team did our job while we were on a break. Dude we are not sick like you and we have lives. I see something about how s**t the PE culture is in every deal we support.

Like these sickos make fun of us for working 80+ hours weeks for them and taking thanksgiving off.

Looking for a gut check. Our financial advisor says we can afford a home up to $2M. We make good money (>$500K) with no debt or loans. Up to $2M sounds absurd but the city’s COL is very high. Is this a golden handcuffs situation? We don’t want to overreach if we really shouldn’t. I’m looking for serious advice.

Healthcare corporations… please note you have more then 1 shift of workers. You have 3 most times, each shift has to be treated equally. This is and always have been an issue, and you cannot figure out why the other shifts refuse to be active and participate in anything and definitely not engaged anymore.

That moment when your "smart" plan to boost your hours this month by working the Labor Day weekend (thus turning down all the fun plans your friends made) becomes sitting on your hands & feeling dumb because all the partners are too busy to delegate anything. The worst kind of "off" day is one you planned to /wanted to work, but there's no billable work...

Hi Fishes,
I had given interview for network security architect position in Feb last week. And as per recruiter, I got selected for that role. I have been asked to share the documents on March 1st. I did a few followup for the offer letter update and they asked me 2 wait for 2-3 weeks. And now they are saying position has gone on hold after I did another followup.
Could it be because of expected salary ?
