Your friend is going to try to pile a bunch of garbage on you because EJ will fire him if he doesn’t. Don’t do it if you actually value your friendship.

My EJ advisor is up 9% in a down market I value their input. My personal account is down ~11% for comparison so I’ll pay them 1.2% for that performance
You are gonna be in a for an education when that “over performance” over corrects in the other direction.
I would stay away.
He will be required to get all your financials when opening the account. If you’re not comfortable with giving them that information, then probably don’t do it.
I always advocating supporting friends regardless of industry. That being said, if your friend just started, they likely have no idea what they are doing.
Fidelity investments or vanguard there’s no better choice unless your retirement plan is already with Edward Jones
