Does anybody else have clients that want to be “innovative” and “disruptive” but the second you share a really cool, insightful, big idea with them that’s on strategy they proceed to fumble like fools and just want to focus on basic block-and-tackle tactics and never actually do anything that’s innovative?

I’ve been dealing with this for years and I never understand why some clients sell themselves as disruptive when they’re scared to do anything daring or spend any money.

Tell me a time when you pivoted and it didn’t work out. It’s always hard at first but what is the least amount of time one should at least give it before giving up and going back to the old field that might be better suited?
