Thoughts on selecting the Russell 1000 index fund for my 401k? Expense ratio of 0.01%. I was considering the target date fund, but I’m 25 and don’t really want any bonds atm.

That would be a very good choice. You can switch to a target date fund or add a bond fund when you get older. Up to you if you want to add an international fund to go with the Russell 1000.

Are you considering allocating 100% to the russell? I like the value tilt here especially with inflated valuations of higher growth stocks. Maybe consider doing a significant % to the Russell and then allocate a small portion to growth, international developed, and emerging. Maybe like 70%, 15%, 10%, 5%, respectively.

Agree Russell 1000 should perform nearly the same as SP 500 which is a blend but is currently leaning to growth.

There is no such fund. No RUT fund has that ER.

Thanks — I will make sure to give your advice the consideration it deserves.

I thought all the Russell 1000 funds went away when the hedge funds figured out how to capture the increase in value from the quarterly changes that happened to the holdings before the changes were made.

D's PDM model is an absolute shit show. You work just as much, not much of a chance for remote, 20-30% lower pay structure and the benefits are absolutely shit. For paternity leave pdm gets 2 weeks while core get 16 weeks. Talk about taking advantage of it's employees. I can't wait to get out! Just FYI, those of you want to join make sure you are core and nothing else.

Has anyone moved from a H/MCOL city to a small town or rural area? Any regrets in regards to career progression, networking, or lack thereof? I'm thinking of making the move this winter in order to cut my housing expense by more than half and to put my daughter in better Catholic school. My employer doesn't care where we live so long as we can get to an airport. I grew up in a small town, so it wouldn't be a shock to me, just worried about how it may affect my career trajectory.

At a former company, they let you expense $20 for working 10+ hours in a day, but you could never use it because it would always be rejected. Recently started at a new firm, and I had a rough week last week (two 14+ hour days). New firm has a similar policy, so I asked. Was told not to submit the $20 reimbursements. Just as I was about to get frustrated, he told me I should get dinner for my wife and me. Only rule was to keep it under $100. Don't like working 14 hour days, but this was nice.

Hey I have an ASC840 accounting question on this scenario - a target sold an asset 10 years ago for 10,000,000 and immediately leased it back. They recorded a deferred gain of $1M and amortized it over the term of the lease (still going) and letting that gain every month reduce the rent expense. Since this deal is cash free debt free shouldn’t we treat this as a debt like item? They received the cash in a prior period but we are now stuck with the payments. I discovered I was pregnant with kid 2 the week my city went into lockdown last spring. Entire pregnancy and first 9 months of 2’s life has been Covid.
