FAANG Exit to MBB?
3.5 YOE, Non-technical, 150k TC
Been at Alphabet my entire career post-undergrad. Managed to move from Google to a well-respected Bet where I’m very happy. Undergrad was a pretty general liberal arts degree and haven’t pursued grad school yet.
What would it look like (from a TC + long term career standpoint) to switch over to MBB for a year or two then go back to FAANG?

Networking for referrals almost never works if you want to apply now. Even if you get a referral it’ll be quite weak and probably meaningless. Networking may work if you want to apply in 6-12 months. There is no downside to shotgunning other than lockout periods and usually those are waived during hiring booms anyways.
Makes sense - Non target school, gpa is ok (3.4) but have a lot of name brand experience (T2 consulting internships and a middle office internship at a BB)

Always try to network (this is the easiest way).
However, I’ve had success with the shotgun method. I mean what’s the worst case scenario, they reject you?
Yea that’s the worst cast but applying takes time even if it’s shotgunning applications. Just wondering if it’s worth spending 30 hours shotgunning 60 applications or am I better off applying to 6 jobs and networking heavily.
For IB you need to network in. Blind applying won’t help you get a spot or give you any chance of landing an interview.
So hit up people on LinkedIn for groups/banks that interest you
Thanks SA1! :)
