What % increase in total comp would you require to switch from one Big 4 to another for a similar role?
Is audit experience mandatory for advisory in big 4? I applied EY FAAS but has been told by recruiter that audit experience is required. So they recommend me to go to audit team for two busy season then apply for FAAS. Can anyone let me know if It’s true? Also if I go to audit WAM. Is it going to limit my opportunities to only FS industry when I apply for advisory like one year later? I want to work on different industry clients in advisory in the future. Btw I do not have audit experience now.

Which big 4 has the market share in mutual fund tax work? Looking to move to public but most of my experience is in mutual funds.
Hello fellow Freelancers! I’ve just quit my FT job as a senior accountant at a Big 4 accounting firm. My hope is to gain enough freelance work to continue working on my own and enjoy freedoms of being a freelancer. Please send me a message if you are looking for a freelance CPA!
Would you take a 25-30% bump in pay to jump from Big 4 to a relatively struggling fashion retailer? Why or why not?
Anyone have perspective on how MBB (specifically Bain) benefits are better than big 4? I heard Bain contributes 4.5% of salary to your 401k regardless of any employee contributions, which is great. Any other big perks that make their benefits package superior to others (eg. Big 4)?
I have an offer to join Commercial Assurance but I’m not sure what career path that could lead me to if I was to leave Big 4 - thoughts?
Has anyone made a switch from B4 to professional services at a software company? Why you made the move? Lessons learned. Thanks.
I joined B4 after college in 2019 and ever since working as QA, mainly manual/ functional testing. Can't see any progress work wise in same projects/teams. Before job, I wasn't a complete nerd but I did have some sense of programming so I wish to use that in my real life work in future. Can someone suggest how should I use my spare time so as to not be stuck in manual testing or testing itself? I'm somewhat lost when thinking of career progression after maybe next 5 years.
I will be graduating from UMass Boston in Dec’21 with double Masters in Accounting and Business Analytics. I’m looking to get into Big 4. Is there anyone who can help me or give me a referral? @
Give me a comp number that I should give my recruiter at EY. Currently $120k TC, non-big 4, 4 YOE. Interviewed for FS senior consultant level. Finished all interviews but did not talk compensation in the beginning when they asked.
If you were looking to exit Big 4 Consulting, what positions would you be targeting? I have done a little of everything with no specialization (great performance reviews across the board). But now a little unsure of what my skills really are from an employer POV.
Would you go from a Big 4 SM (recently promoted) to an ACN high end M (with a promise to make SM in a year) for a 40% pay bump? Being paid way too low at my current firm, as I'm home grown but have strong relationships.
What does the career path, work life balance and salary progression look like for an actuary in a B4 firm? Thinking about making a switch….
I got a good thing going on at work. I’m getting book work all the time but I am ready for a promotion. Here’s the thing, I feel like they don’t give promotions out unless you have an offer. My thing is, I don’t like to play that game. If I have an offer somewhere else I’m going to take it. Another dilemma is, it’s seems like everyone is hiring right now and they are all good opportunities. If I wait around, let’s say 6 months, I’m afraid no one will be hiring at that point. What would you do?
I have a Delta flights booked on December 31 and January 1 on the same itinerary. Will the MQDs MQMs and MQSs count towards 2018 or 2019?
I’m doing my final round interviews with Strategy& PEVC group for Senior Manager role. They mentioned it would be a case interview. Any idea what to expect? Is it like post MBA case interview where you are asked to build a framework, shown a ton of charts etc etc?
Any recommendations on leadership books?
Help! Rolling off on a project soon. What are some parting gift ideas for a small hotel staff that has been great to you and your team?
Do you have many LGBT friends and do you necessarily care if you do or don’t? I have one gay friend who I catch up with occasionally and I think my husband has two. I never really cared either way about it, however I feel like I’m at that point where you primarily make new friends through existing ones, and they are having children and making other “parent” friends. Between that and living in a SFH neighborhood in the suburbs, I’ve changed my viewpoint over the last few months.
So.. EY’s health insurance through BCBS only covers Pap smears every 3 years now… HOW is this okay. I just paid $990 out of pocket because the rules changed this year. I’m pissed

Hi all! Will any kind fish be willing to read my resume and give me feedback? I’ve been applying to different position but haven’t had any luck. 7 YOE (6 in industry, 1+ post-mba consulting) with working for a leading LS consulting firm. I’ve heard the level I should be targeting is AD / D for industry exits. I haven’t had much luck with roles at those levels (most interest has been at the Sr. M level). Am I aiming too high?
