Thoughts on studying for a certification during work hours if it’s for work and you’re having trouble keeping up with it?

I am a Unit Coordinator and I enjoyed what I was doing so much I took the time and spent the money to get certified. I was later told congratulations but my certification wouldn’t come with a pay increase, over the last couple months I spotted a new HUC position for a department I’ve been dying to get into for a while now and recently interviewed for the job. I just wondered what is a reasonable salary request if the question gets risen? I should also mention I have my BA and 1+ experience.

Does a master’s degree count as work experience?
My wife has an MBA from India, and is currently enrolled in MS in Business Analytics at a top university in USA. She has almost a year experience in project management, which is the field she is looking for jobs in as well.
My question is, most of the Project Management roles require 2-4 year work ex. Do you think her master’s degree will be counted as Work ex?

Currently we are only applying for entry level role, and wondering if we should be ex?

Just realized a firm partner has a pattern of treating female employees poorly. Except for the associate who brings in the big money, of course. Anyone else feel like they’re not right for the corporate world? It’s not my personality to let my manager know of everything I’m working on - I’m heads down and I get the job done and only bring him in if I need help. However, I’m now learning that this is hurting me because my more vocal colleagues are being recognized for tasks I already do. I just hate these corporate games. I’ve been in corporate America and Finance for less than a year but every time I have interacted with a woman who’s an MD or higher up, seeking mentorship or advice, they have just been so cold and rude! I’m also POC and have actively reached out to other WOC who are senior to me and I keep experiencing this. I can understand being busy and having more than you can juggle on your hands but I do not understand the lack of empathy? Albeit my sample size is small here but is it just me?

Compensation Q: I am a financial advisor, licensed, have my CFP, 6 yrs of experience. I’m on a team w $1B AUM and handle all of the financial planning and estate projections for clients with NW up to $300M (only CFP on the team) & am the primary relationship manager for ~50 clients ($100k-$4m AUM/client). My manager consistently makes condescending remarks about my work even though I’m overworked and prioritize what is urgent. I regularly work 12-13+ hours a day but never receive any confirmation or recognition that I’m doing a good job and there is always something to criticise.
