Dealing with the same decision. Currently I’m 100% WFM for the foreseeable future in a software dev role at a bank. I have an offer on the table to go with a big defense contractor for $40k more but hybrid. 2 days a week in office. “In office” means a 3 hour commute one way. Not sure what to do.

In DC? Just take Acela once a week. That’s what I do 😆

Id choose the work life balance where you can pursue other passions

I would not consider working for 1 of the big 4 banks a 9-5 job you’ll end up working before 9am and after 5pm. I’ve worked for 2 of the big 4 banks worked outside the 9-5.

In corporate banking and own a startup I work on after 6 and on weekends. Do both.

Does anyone else feel like this pandemic has helped level out the playing field between working moms and everyone else? Although the beginning of the pandemic was a nightmare with no access to childcare, continuing to be able to work from home has provided me with the opportunity to advance my career, where I could not before because of the time constraints of my commute and getting home to relieve my childcare. Am I alone in feeling this way?

My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.

Hi mamas, how do you handle a sick child when you cannot take the days off? My son is 18 months, just started daycare and he’s been sick a lot. I just changed job, so I don’t have enough PTO to take, but I’m able to WFH. Husband cannot work from home or take time off since he has a big deadline at work right now. How do you handle a sick child but also get the work done? We don’t have any families live close by neither.

Twitter allowing all employees to work from home indefinitely. Post-COVID, if companies allow more ppl to WFH, is there any reason for client travel anymore? Clients wont be in the office anyways.

Hello Folks, Can you pls advise on which company to go for. R-Systems : They are providing WFH + clarity on the project and team for which I’ll be working upon. CTS : No clarity as of now, only thing I am aware is that I’m a part of full stack community. HCL : Some clarity on the project but less package than other two. R-Systems and CTS are giving same CTC. My firm recently announced that they were beginning a reservation system for hoteling starting February of 2022 for offices . We were told to clear out our offices by December 31,2022 . The lease is not up for renewal until June 2024 at which point they will look to reduce their office space due to a hybrid work model . My issue is what incentive do I have to make a reservation to go to an office when I can simply continue work from home hassle free. Any Thoughts and comments?

Been working remote since the beginning of the pandemic. Back in the office in January and trying to finalize childcare. Recruiters connecting with me for new job opportunities. Scared to even consider a shift out of my current company where I may have some flexibility bc I've been there for so long, but they're dragging their feet with giving me a well deserved raise. So unsure what to do. Shift now, or cont to negotiate $ at current job or hit the road and let the childcare figure itself out.
