Thoughts on taking a break from big law and working for a non-profit for a bit? Will that kill my chances of ever returning to big law? Am in 4th year.

Could you please assist me in deciding which one to choose based on work-life balance, career growth, and other employee benefits packages?

1. Deloitte USI (16.5% fixed + 10% variable).
2. AllState India (18.6L fixed + 7% variable).
3. MasterCard (21.2L fixed + 10% variable).

I’m a NEQ at a Midwest small firm and will be relocating to Indianapolis within the next year. I’m currently ID but would like to explore possibly doing plaintiff side work (PI or employment) as part of this career transition. What are the most reputable plaintiff firms, both in terms of culture and reputation in the legal community? Any other opinions/pointers welcome. Thanks!

Can someone please give me some insight on cvent vs appdynamics cisco. Both are giving similar fixed CTC of 29 on 5 YOE. I know appdynamics provide great learning opportunities but cvent is also good. I am from Chandigarh so Delhi is also mor near to my home.

M&A folks: What amount of billable time is appropriate to draft a pre-LOI NDA? Small deal (under $50 million).

Does anyone else find it difficult to ask for time off? I haven’t taken a “vacation day” since February, billed 185+ hour months consistently through the pandemic (exceeded hours for 2020 bonus eligibility), and am feeling pretty burnt out. It’s hard because other associates in my department haven’t really taken any time off either (or it has been a day or two sporadically). Would really love to take some days over Christmas to recharge but I’m nervous about perception.
