Thoughts on taking out a bridge loan (let’s say 25% of purchase price) to make an all cash offer on a condo, then taking out a home equity loan on the condo to pay off the bridge loan and invest the rest of the loan in a low risk index fund?

Do it!!

Why not take out a HELOC from your primary residence for the down payment of the condo and extra for the risk index fund and get a mortgage for the condo?

It would be for a first home purchase

There are companies that do this for you with less paperwork (the cash offer to win a house and turn it into a leveraged mortgage))

My boyfriend and I make 200K combined and live in NJ. We have $1000 in monthly car payments combined. That’s all we owe. Our credit scores are in the 800s. We have 50K to put down on a home. We have done the math and I know we can afford much more but he doesn’t want to buy more than a 400K home. I’m almost positive we can afford 500K and be more than ok. But then he starts to talk about how much kids cost and how we will be house poor and we won’t be able to afford kids. 🤔 Am I insane??

I joined mindtree in Jan 2022. Suddenly there is a 10k deduction in salary in the month of April. The salary slip say 10k deduction as INCOME TAX.
Mindtree says "You come under 20% slab according to the income tax calculations. When all the tax slabs are applied you will have to pay yearly tax around Rs. X amount. So that amount will be deducted in monthly basis."
Why sudden income tax deduction? Why was that not deducted in the month of Jan Feb March ?
How can i recover that 10k every month?

I probably won’t use Turbo Tax for my taxes, but I WILL try to do that dance tonight.

Team is falling apart. I’m leaving. I feel bad. Long story short is, I’m on a team with a Director, VP, and a Associate. The associate left 2 months ago and they’re still looking for someone to fill in that role. I wanted it but the Director thinks I’m not ready to be an associate. I recruited and have a offer for an associate at another bank. The VP just put his 2 weeks in and now I’m about to as well. I feel so guilty knowing the amount of work left but I don’t want to be an analyst anymore...

One way to invest in rental properties is paying the downpayment and any renovation costs using saved up cash. I know folks also use HELOCs. So you'll end up with 2 loans. First house is currently valued at 900k (bought at 500k 7 years ago). We are considering a move to a LCOL city to try it out.

Should we rent it out for $3800/month to make money while keeping it as rental properties or sell it so we can buy a new home property and then invest the rest? Looks like getting financing for second home is pretty tough.

House is in Arlington VA if it matters.
