McKinsey & Company McKinsey & Company been working here one year and received pretty positive feedback. Given the expectation for people of my tenure to transition to EM in a year or so, I can’t see myself staying due to the WLB as an EM. I’m 35 and have 2 young kids. Can it even be realistically done? Would love to stay but I don’t see a balance which would keep my family happy. What options do I have from there?

I did it and loved it. Best place to study in the world, 800+ years of history. And now #5 in the global FT ranking :-)
2 year is only conventional in the US I feel. In Europe 1 year is relatively common. I didn't want to have two years without income.
@McK Being relatively new on the scene is not the same as not being world class.
BCG1 - I think it is. New = you don't have the resources, faculty, endowment, alumni or caliber of students.
"The Cambridge MBA is ranked first in value for money and aims achieved, with 89 per cent of alumni who responded to the survey indicating that they fulfilled their goals or reasons for doing an MBA. Cambridge Judge is also ranked in the top 10 among the world’s business schools in the effectiveness of the careers office, in areas such as career counselling, personal development, networking events, internship search and recruitment."
MBB recruited there, OW et al.
Had folks apply for US offices as well.
Yea no issue at all. US office would manage process and first round would be probably in UK.
@B1 Did recruit for BCG or come back from BCG?
Neither :-) Was sponsored by another firm then.
That's great to hear! What was your motivation for pursuing the 1-year program as opposed to the conventional 2-year?
It's not really a world class business institution tho. I'd rather choose LBS or INSEAD. I also don't believe FT rankings - since when is Wharton above Harvard?
Ok fair they are not yet at same level along these criteria. Your initial statement just sounded very black and white dismissive. Judge Business School is clearly the toddler among faculties in Cambridge, but they've already come a long in their 20-whatever years of existence and are on a good trajectory.
What firms recruit in Cambridge ? What was it like for people who wanted to work in the us?
Bcg1 is it easy to apply for us office if i have US citizenship? Cant justify for 2 years no income also.
