It’s a good foundational security certification. If you are looking at junior roles it would help. 1-4 weeks. Professor Messor videos cover pretty much everything you need to know.

Thank you so much 😊

Took a week-long bootcamp and took and passed the exam on Friday afternoon.

Adding on to PwC 1 + buy the Security+ book from Darrill Gibson

If you have no foundational knowledge you may need to take longer than a few weeks to study. Darril Gibson/Professor Messer. Also, be able to apply concept for simulations which professor messer offers as well.

It’s a nice-to-have for entry-level roles in cybersecurity. If you’re experienced, move on to the CISSP

Question is should I be in Mindtree till my next promotion to C2 or should I switch after completion of 1 year in Mindtree? What hike can I expect for Web developer after switching.

Hi All,
I have been working as mainframe developer for around 8 years. From last year, working on requirement analysis and team management activities. I want to move into java full stack developer profile as I am not interested in management work. I know that being 8+ YOE guy and considering my tech background, it would be difficult to transition, but I am really depressed with my work profile. Please advise how should I transition my career path to a java full stack developer.

Looking to transition to a new career, possibly to SWE. I have a physical science background with some student loan debt. Before I dive into more student loans, I wanted to check out some Software Engineering boot camps....

Any recommendations? What's your personal experience? Are they worth paying, or is college the way?

I'm currently an early PM at a small fintech startup and thinking of changing companies, but could use some advice.

1. If I want to be a tech PM in the future, would it be a bad idea to go into a different industry, like an ad or creative agency, for some time? Would it be harder to transition back to tech afterwards?

2. If you were at an early stage startup that doesn't have benefits set up yet, what % increase on top of the base salary would you want for total compensation?

I declined the new offer during interview stage and again after they gave me initial offer, but it is coming back with 80k more in annual compensation. It made me so torn!! Should I renege MBB offer?

If you work in tech your skills are in demand. We have a choice about where we work. If your employer is more evil than the average corporation that’s on you. Figure out the companies you refuse to work for on ethical grounds before you start looking for a job. It may feel like limiting your opportunities, but most of the time a company doing bad things in the world is going to have an unpleasant internal culture to match.

I had first virtual for a non tech role a week ago (with referral) but haven’t heard from recruiter. Is that a bad sign? Hiring mgr stated I might be too senior so I applied to a more senior role. Sr role recruiter sent my resume to hiring team so wondering if I’m no longer considered for role 1.

Hello everyone
I am an Economics grad student at NYU. I have been applying for internships since September and I keep hitting dead ends. It’s been extremely hard even getting a hear back from a company. I don’t know what I am doing wrong and am very dejected and close to giving up now. Now I feel it’s already too late with most companies done with their hiring. I genuinely want to succeed at this so if anyone has any advice, please feel free to share.
