I think its a good leather/ canvas combo bag.
Visually appealing.
If you're okay with a "soft style" bag (i.e. it doesn't holds its shape/less piping/single layer)
I think its a fine price point but would still shop around/wait for sales.
Looks good, for me it looks like may be too small for when I have to carry around two laptops or more than a laptop and a note pad.
But maybe I’m just pissed at having to carry two laptops around these days.
Thanks for the input. I think the dimensions are reasonably sized with 4.5 inches in depth. Also left consulting recently so I now only have to carry one 13 inch thinkpad.
Just curious, why are you replacing your saddleback? Is it just the weight?
Replacing due to the thickness. My saddleback is around 6.5 to 7 inches in depth at the bottom since it has two compartments + front pockets. Very useful when I was carrying two laptops as a consultant but since starting a new job, I no longer will have that need.
Have you looked at Filson bags? Similar price point and you can usually find them on sale. I have a Filson briefcase from brooks brothers I got for 40% off and my wife got me their weekender duffle which is great. Excellent quality
Nice! Yes I was also considering the Filson 256 briefcase bag. Style wise, it’s more on the casual side so I wanted to get something that has a more formal look.
That’s a good looking bag. Comparable price to many Tumi briefcases, which I have found to be very good quality. Obviously price doesn’t necessarily equate to quality/ durability. For that kind of money, I’d want to examine it in person first. If you can’t find it in a store, would check the return policy before purchasing.
Overall though, I really like the look.
Return policy is reasonable and eligible for full refund as long as it is not used. I have to pay for shipping but understandable since the owner is a one man shop.
