Thoughts on this for cocktail themed work holiday party?

I wore pink to my business school Christmas Party since I hate being in theme (everyone was red and green) therefore neither the colour nor the patterns bother me too much. It does seem quite casual however if you add black heels and a black blazer combo, maybe also a thin belt in the middle to tie in the black I think it could work quite well. I like patterns too and get bored by just dark colours so would love the contrast of colourful with dark. I actually might do navy with this rather than black, it would look more chic perhals. I think most people tend to dress the same (uniform type clothing) so you will get the same type dress suggestion which you might find boring if it isn't your look. Don't let your individuality suffer. Just make sure to match the level of formality needed. This looks like it can be dressed down or up depending on mood so I don't see an issue with it.

I like the pattern and quality of material. Agree with others that it is not holiday party cocktail - specifically because of color palette, thin straps and “romper” style. However, you could make it work with a dark, sharply tailored, cropped blazer. It would be heavily skirting the dress code but could arguably work.

I would pass on this, seems too spring/summer like.

With a dark blazer and booties - I’d wear it!

Me too. I love it.

How about something like this with black tights and booties or heels?

Honestly I suspect I have a similar style to OP (as I love that jumpsuit) and I'd find this extremely boring for a holiday/ cocktail party. Everyday wear, maybe a brunch? For sure, it's very pretty. But for cocktail I want colours, patterns, sparkles, something interesting so to speak! So I think the thing about posts like this is that everyone is different and you should just wear what you like to wear, no one will judge you too much. I saw another post where a woman asked about a gold dress and was ripped to shreds. We have an added benefit of being women, and having a milion options. Men for these events can only wear suits and perhaps do a fun tie. So why stifle our personal styles, we go for what we want!

If you like it, wear it! I’m kind of obsessed with the cowboy boot sitch that people have going. You could pair this with a button up shirt underneath and a cowboy boot bootie to go with the boho look of the jumpsuit. Even a cream turtleneck underneath depending on what climate you’re in.

^ Loooooove Plan B! So much more stylish and festive IMO. Have fun.

Oh my. And here I though Plan B was a joke. You rock it, OP! I am guessing we are in very different generations- you will look great in it! I would look like a clown.

I like the dress but as others have mentioned, it doesn’t seem in line with the cocktail theme or season

like

I dislike. Sorry. It seems like a good sundress for traveling tropical place, though.

More skin/shoulder than I’d go for 🤷‍♀️

Are you going to the PWC holiday party in Chicago?

funny

Save it for the promotion party in the summer. This is too spring/summer and not formal enough for the holiday party.
