I’ll be more interested once they share how this is going to be enforced and how accountable restaurants and gyms will be. For now, it’s just an upcoming rule. Fwiw I agree with it, but curious about implementing it

like

They said they will release a new app and fine establishments for not complying

like

Much appreciated. They should do this in all progressive states and suspect travel from the states with low vaccination rates.

Awesome. I wish it applied to all public indoor spaces and offices.

like

You’re probably right. I just wish I could go to the office, know everyone is vaccinated and feel comfortable not wearing a mask.

like

Great idea. Those who choose to endanger others should become second class citizens.

Authoritarianism and not having a choice about what goes into your body is so cool!! I can’t wait for the 3rd and 4th dose! Big pharma definitely cares about my health and not profits. Sick!

As if getting vaccines to be apart of modern society is new? We’ve always had to show proof of vaccinations to go to elementary school, college, etc. This mandate only requires a vaccine to take part in “luxury” aspects of life where as say, the polio vaccine we all got a children, was required to enter society (I.e. school). The politicization of this vaccine is illogical and tiring.

The double standards really kill me... this is one large step in the wrong direction if you care about freedoms at all

You are not free to endanger the public

like

Need to make sure implementation is strong but love this in theory!

like

I like the idea but am concerned about people creating fake proofs of vaccination.

It's already happening at some places in nyc. I had to show an email on my phone as proof because I don't carry my card

like

Agreed - much needed move!

like

Looks like I’m never going back to work in NYC.

like

Bye, Felicia.

The irony that people would give up freedoms for security... as it is stated "Those that (do), deserve neither) How are they going to enforce this when they're already defunding the police force?

like

I’m sure it will be enforced just like being carded for booze. Will it be 100% effective? No. Will it make a difference? Yes.

like

Fantastic news, should have some that earlier.

like

I love it

I love the idea. What are the cons to this? Why are so many people like mourning the loss of their freedoms lol

Sure but that excelsior pass is not working well.

Try NYC COVId Safe. Works quite well

like

Without mask mandate and capacity limits it wont curb the spread as much as it could have

Nope.. this is how dictators act

Thoughts on Indexed Universal Life Insurance as an investment vehicle? I hear the pros and cons from the sellers of this, whom I understand gain heavy commissions. But wanted to get thoughts from investors and if this isn't a good vehicle, what alternative investment vehicles do you suggest (outside of stocks, Roth, 401k, and real estate)? Looking to diversify my portfolio. I'm 43, married, income 600k combined, and we have 2 properties worth 3m and investment accounts worth ~2-3m. Thanks!

Finally watched The Social Dilemma on Netflix. It didn’t say anything that we didn’t already know about social media and big tech, but it’s still alarming and worth the watch. The biggest question I have after watching is why do people still romanticize FAANG? Is just purely the money and prestige? Are we selling our soul for a highly regarded exit opportunity? Just curious.

Interviewing tip needed: I feel like a diversity hire at most of the companies I have worked for. A sentiment that is felt by other diverse colleagues at my job. When looking for a new job, what questions can I ask to find this out before I join? How can I assess whether a company truly values my skillset, pay equally, & promote equally? Whether there are implicit biases at play? My current job has 2 diverse bosses at senior level so I took that as a good sign but I was wrong.

It’s restructuring season. KPMG, GT, and other firms have begun announcing layoffs. Everyone should take some time to polish off their resume. 6 months in at a new firm. 4th year attorney. Completely new practice area from what I did previously. The partner often sends the random potential client call ins my way. Many times, they have questions related to things I’ve never done and he only provides guidance if I can pull him away from something else to ask. I’m super low on hours but feel that it would be ethically wrong to take on a case involving an issue Im totally unfamiliar with and not confident handling. Wrong approach?
