I just came out to the principal on my case after he asked me if I’m married. He was shocked and awkward but recovered eventually! Anybody want to share their story?

I'm an engineer and I love building things but based on what I've seen about Gen Z, I think I'm going to raise my kids in a less modern style. No TV, no internet, at least until a certain age.

I set up an interview last week with a company for tomorrow morning, two 45 minute interviews back to back. Of course, today I heard back from my current company I would be getting a raise after having pay frozen since May. Unless it was a very very very good offer, I’m not sure I see myself leaving anymore. The interview is at 8:30 tomorrow morning - what would you in my position? I don’t want to break the connection with this company as I don’t want to have to rule them out in the future

We get it, ghosting happens. But has it ever happened to you repeatedly by the same person? Cashmere Agency in LA calls me relentlessly and then ghosts me just as relentlessly. Sales Force has done it two or three times as well. I can’t help but laugh and think about how it feels like getting a text from an ex—this didn’t work out before remember? It’s only been a month I’m still me.

At this moment, I am almost depressed. I am in a relationship with this guy for 2 years now. In the past 2 years, we have fought more than we have lived days with peace. We both have high ego problems because of which it’s really hard to resolve a conflict. Things have recently escalated to calling names/swearing and even physically abuse from both sides. We both want to end the relationship, have tried so many times, but we cannot.

To con't the conversation on engagement rings💍 - what do they symbolize to you? My BF and I got into a discussion about this last night. He views them as an investment and an "asset" on the books for his future family. He also has grandparents who had to finance their trip to America by selling their jewels. I see the ring as more of a gift to the future bride that is an expense that can be sold for money if needed, but isn't an investment. I'm fine w/ lab grown, he is not. Thoughts?

For the older 🐠 out there. Have any of you successfully re-dated an ex and end up getting married? Haven't talked to an ex in 2 years and really hit it off.

I don’t trust that the guy I’m dating is over his first love. We’ve talked about it but it’s hard for me to believe him: he sends her birthday wishes, still hangs out with her in group settings, was very sad when he told me about her dumping him, asked her to get back together a couple weeks before we started dating, etc. Do I just move on now?

For those who are in long term relationships, why aren’t you married? I’d like to move forward and start a family, but my gf isn’t willing to consider that at this point and probably won’t for the next ~10yrs. We’re 23 and 27yo

I’ve been extremely busy. Because of this, I have less patience for the constant follow up required for me to get things out the door (I’m talking about weeks of unanswered e-mails and phone calls). I have been finding it difficult to raise the issue because everyone seems appreciative and many partners (including the ones who are causing the unnecessary stress) go out of their way to tell me what a fantastic job I’m doing. Any suggestions as to how to raise this without jeopardizing my status?

I found out I'm making nearly $20,000 under my salary. I have a scheduled 1:1 meeting with my Director in 2 days - How do I best ask for this kind of raise? Is it too much?

My gf of a few months is sometimes impatient/ short w me. For example, she would sigh heavily if I ask her to repeat something she said earlier, or she would rudely state things like ‘isn’t that obvious?’. Whenever I bring it up that I would appreciate if she were kinder/ nicer to me, she says that’s just how she is. This makes me feel disrespected and slightly lacking of the warm and feminine affection I desire. Please advise.

If you could go back and start over would you still choose this path? Or would you choose a different career and/or a different time to have children? I accidentally became a working parent in law so while I love my job and my children I don't think I would have planned it quite like this.

Thoughts on Elixirr? I have seen very mixed reviews on this app and elsewhere. Could anyone shed light on the following:

1. Working hours
2. Working culture, e.g. slides sweatshop or actual thinking done, ability to take lunch break, and so on
3. Travel frequency + ability to choose projects in SA
4. Flexible working, ie do I need to come to the office??
5. Real promotion mechanisms
6. Interview process

Our 5 month old started daycare about 5 weeks ago. We’ve already had to keep her home for 2.5 of those 5 weeks due to catching various illnesses (croup, rsv, brinchiolitis, etc). Both my wife and I have been sick most of that time as well (gotten it from the baby). Wife is thinking we get a full time nanny for the next 4 months to help the baby build antibodies. Cost aside, is this feasible / worthwhile to go thru the effort / finding the right fit, only for 4 months?

Any recos on great childcare in New York (ideally west village / Chelsea / Greenwich / soho)?

First time Dad and my 15 month old keeps running up the stairs at my in-laws place and they keep encouraging it. Stairs are almost 10 inches high with nothing underneath and I’m worried that he might slip and fall in between the stairs. My FIL is a bit of a know-it-all and keeps insisting it’s safe and I don’t agree. What do I do? Don’t want to fight the entire house full of people about this and kid enjoys it too much and cries a lot if I/we prevent him from climbing

Every day of my life feels the same. The monotony of my job and taking care of the young kiddos is just the same over and over. We recently sleep trained our 7 month son. He went from waking up multiple times during night and taking only 30 minute naps 3 times during day (most cases nursed to sleep or rocked to sleep or took a drive) to sleeping 12 hours at night without interruption and two 2 hour naps and one 45 minutes nap during day. We both love that he is getting enough sleep and well rested on one hand. On the other hand, we are now wondering if he is sleeping way too much.. contd…
